When my parents were married, you know, it all fit together. Like, they were married, and they were going to go to heaven with me and my family, and everything fit just perfectly. And then my parents got divorced, and my whole testimony kind of crumbled because I just--it didn't fit. [MUSIC PLAYING] I started questioning everything about my religion. And I searched the internet, and I talked to my friends kind of about what I was going through. Reaching out to people is what kind of helped me work through this whole process. And they were able to help me just by being there, having real conversations about questions. So I was trying to do it in an objective way and not just go to a different extreme. I mean, you're so deep in the hurt of not knowing, "How do I come to a point where I can understand in a better view how things really do fit?" Because it wasn't "They're divorced, so they're bad," or "They're divorced, so they're not going to heaven." I had to learn that they were their own people on their own journey, and I couldn't pass judgment. I knew that Heavenly Father would want them to have peace and just keep learning and growing. And I needed to figure out how that connected with what I believed my whole entire life. And it took years of going to church, and maybe disliking a lot of things people said in lessons. And I had to really look at Jesus, and kind of His example and His stories, and figure out what it was that He really is here for and what He did for us. He understands what I'm going through, since He's been below all things. Like, I can't go deeper than that. So He understands what I've gone through. I feel like the whole point of the gospel is for everyone to lift each other up and help each other through this life, help each other become more like Christ. And I think you can only do that by empathizing with each other and listening to each other and hearing each other's stories. It's OK to have some of these struggles, and it's OK to have some of these issues. And Jesus's love and His, like, grace is in the mess. That's where I find Him, is in the mess. I just want to choose to believe, and I want to keep having experiences that strengthen my belief. My faith journey is taking a long time, but that's OK because Jesus gives you grace, and He's there, and He lets you learn. There's so much of me in the gospel, and the gospel in me. We're all here together. We're all trying to learn and grow and be better. I like that we're all just trying our best. [MUSIC PLAYING]
