FSY Teachers

How do I get involved?

Teaching opportunities are by assignment only and are typically filled by Seminaries and Institute (S&I) employees. If you are non-S&I and are interested in the limited opportunities available, you may contact FSYFaculty@byu.edu.

What is My Role?

Teachers are vital to the overall success of the FSY program. Teachers work to accomplish the objective of FSY: Help youth strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ and feel joy and belonging as they live the gospel by engaging in inspired learning opportunities and wholesome social experiences.

Teaching at FSY will be an experience you won't forget! As a teacher at FSY, you will be responsible for:

  • Teaching eight lessons, four on Tuesday and four on Wednesday.
  • Using teachings that are doctrinally sound, conducive to the Spirit, relevant and engaging.
  • Teaching true principles and doctrine found in the scriptures and the words of modern prophets.
  • Cultivating an environment that is conducive in helping youth to learn by the Spirit.
  • Being a role model for the youth.
  • Encouraging the youth to "take the message home" by writing down their thoughts and feelings in their handbooks and committing to do something or share something they have learned at FSY with others.
  • Bearing testimony and standing as a witness of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.
