Historical Background

The South Africa MTC was established in July 2003.

Location

The South Africa MTC is located in Roodepoort, a suburb of Johannesburg. The Johannesburg South Africa Temple and area administrative offices are located approximately 30 minutes away.

Facilities

The MTC includes residence rooms, classrooms, a kitchen, a cafeteria, and laundry facilities. The MTC shares the site with a chapel and the offices of CES, Facilities Management, and the South Africa Johannesburg Mission.

Exercise facilities include one large playing field, an outdoor volleyball court, an outdoor basketball court, outdoor walking areas, and an indoor facility with stationary exercise equipment.

The MTC can train up to 50 missionaries at a time.
