Susan Marie Mullen
Relief Society Advisory Council Member
Susan Marie Mullen was born in Newport Beach, California, to James Edward Owen and Jane Marie Stabler. She joined the Church at the age of 25. Sister Mullen received a bachelor’s degree in dance from Brigham Young University, where she also taught ballroom dance. Sister Mullen and her husband, Thomas E. Mullen, work as adjunct faculty members in religious education at Brigham Young University, where they jointly teach missionary preparation. They are the parents of four children.
Prior to her calling to the Relief Society general advisory council, Sister Mullen and her husband served as mission leaders in the New York Utica Mission from 2003 to 2006 and at the Provo MTC as branch president and branch missionary. She has served as a Gospel Doctrine teacher, institute teacher, stake mission preparation teacher, ward Young Women president, stake Young Women presidency counselor, and camp director. Sister Mullen has also volunteered with the PTA and as a Pathway institute teacher.
Sister Mullen enjoys adventures. She loves the scripture Doctrine and Covenants 6:36: “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.”
