Leading from a Distance

Our sacred callings as leaders in Young Women are now more important than ever. Technology gives us many ways to connect as presidencies and with those we serve. We hope you will seek the Lord’s guidance in your call to lead His precious daughters at this unique time.

Dear Young Women class presidencies and adult leaders,

How are you ministering to the young women in your class?

Our prophet recently said: “Please take good care of yourselves and your loved ones, and look for opportunities to help those around you, near and far. We have the great privilege of ministering to our neighbors wherever they live” (Russell M. Nelson, “President Nelson Shares Message of Hope during COVID-19 Outbreak,” Newsroom, newsroom.ChurchofJesusChrist.org).

Our sacred callings as leaders in Young Women are now more important than ever. Technology gives us many ways to connect as presidencies and with those we serve.

We hope you will seek the Lord’s guidance in your call to lead His precious daughters at this unique time. Remember the following principles as you counsel together with your presidency and with your priesthood leaders:

  • God is a God of miracles and is not limited by our current worldly constraints.
    TRUST HIM
  • You are a beloved daughter of Heavenly Parents. You have been called of God and will be guided by revelation to accomplish His work.
    SEEK HIM
  • You have unique gifts you can use to lift and build the young women in your class and point them to Christ.
    SERVE HIM

As a General Presidency, we are grateful for your efforts to serve the young women in your class. You will be blessed as you counsel together and honor the restrictions of your community as you serve. We love you and add our prayers to yours for the safety and protection of all of God’s beloved daughters.

Sincerely,

Bonnie H. Cordon, President
