Elder Timothy J. Dyches
Elder Timothy J. Dyches was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2013. At the time of his call, he was serving in a ward Young Men presidency. He served as a member of the Europe Area Presidency from August 2013 to August 2016 and is currently serving at Church headquarters as an Assistant Executive Director in the Temple Department and chairman of the Restoration and Cancellation Committee.
Elder Dyches attended Brigham Young University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in university studies. He received his medical degree and his specialty training at Washington University Medical School in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1985 he began a private practice performing ear, nose, throat, and head and neck surgery until 2008, when he departed to serve as a mission president.
Elder Dyches served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Germany South Mission (1970–1972), high councilor, stake president, temple ordinance worker, Area Seventy, president of the Oregon Portland Mission (2008–2011), and deacons quorum adviser.
Timothy John Dyches was born in Murray, Utah, on January 15, 1951. He married Jill Elizabeth Dudley in April 1974. They are the proud parents of three children.
