First Presidency Announces 2018 Temple Presidents for Italy, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and More

The following five new temple presidents and matrons have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service when the temples are dedicated.
Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple
Brent L. Jameson, 71, Higley Manor Ward, Gilbert Arizona Williams Field Stake, called as president of the new Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Temple. President Jameson’s wife, Lorraine Bird Jameson, will serve as temple matron. He is a Sunday School teacher, Public Affairs specialist, and temple sealer and a former Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa Mission president, stake president, bishop, and senior missionary. A retired French college professor, he was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Parley L and Leah Jameson.
Sister Jameson is a Sunday School teacher, Relief Society music leader, and temple ordinance worker. She served with her husband as he presided over the Democratic Republic of the Congo Kinshasa Mission and is a former stake and ward Young Women and Primary presidency counselor and senior missionary. She was born in Salt Lake City to Karl Phillips and Iza Draper Bird.
Concepción Chile Temple
Joe Neil Swenson, 62, Deer Creek Ward, Midway Utah West Stake, called as president of the new Concepción Chile Temple. President Swenson’s wife, Jolene Swain Swenson, will serve as temple matron. He is a high councilor and a former Chile Concepción South Mission president, stake president, branch president, and bishopric counselor. President/CEO of Imagine Learning, he was born in Provo, Utah, to J LaVell and Mary Josephine Elder Swenson.
Sister Swenson is a stake Young Women presidency counselor. She served with her husband as he presided over the Chile Concepción South Mission and is a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president and seminary teacher. She was born in Provo, Utah, to Mack F and LaRie Kay Swain.
Barranquilla Colombia Temple
César Augusto Dávila Peñaloza, 67, Porvenir Ward, Barranquilla Colombia Paraíso Stake, called as president of the new Barranquilla Colombia Temple. President Dávila’s wife, Miryam Hernández Cruz de Dávila, will serve as temple matron. He is a high councilor and a former Area Seventy, Colombia Barranquilla Mission president, regional representative, stake presidency counselor, and branch president. Project manager for the LDS Church, he was born in Bogotá, Colombia, to Julio Enrique Dávila Villamizar and Ana Rita Peñaloza Martínez de Dávila.
Sister Dávila is a temple missionary. She served with her husband as he presided over the Colombia Barranquilla Mission and is a former ward Relief Society and Primary president. Born in Bogotá, Colombia, to Alfonso Hernández and María Antónia Cruz Leguizamón.
Rome Italy Temple
Craig Neil Pacini, 64, Ensign 1st Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake, called as president of the new Rome Italy Temple. President Pacini’s wife, Julie Anne Metcalfe Pacini, will serve as temple matron. He is a Boy Scout district chairman and a former Italy Rome Mission president, bishop, high councilor, and temple ordinance worker. Retired Human Resource director for the LDS Church, he was born in San Francisco, California, to LeRoy Thomas and Venice Lawana Davis Pacini.
Sister Pacini is a ward Relief Society ministering supervisor. She served with her husband as he presided over the Italy Rome Mission and is a former stake Relief Society presidency counselor and ward Relief Society and Primary president. She was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Derek Frank and Maureen Lenore Dawn Ottley Metcalfe.
Durban South Africa Temple
Leon Arthur Holmes, 65, Somerset West Ward, Cape Town South Africa Stake, called as president of the new Durban South Africa Temple. President Holmes’s wife, Elizabeth Anne Gibson Holmes, will serve as temple matron. He is an elders quorum instructor and temple ordinance worker and a former Ghana Kumasi Mission president, stake president, bishop, and branch president. Retired director for temporal affairs for the Church, he was born in Cape Town, South Africa, to Arthur James and Irene Carr Holmes.
Sister Holmes is a ward Relief Society presidency counselor. She served with her husband as he presided over the Ghana Kumasi Mission and is a former stake and ward Primary president, ward Relief Society president, and ward Young Women presidency counselor. She was born in Oranjemund, South Africa, to Thomas Snowdon Gibson and Enrica Redaelli.
