First Presidency Announces New Temple Presidents and Matrons in Nebraska, Quebec, Australia, and More

The following eight new temple presidents and matrons have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in November of 2019.

Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple

Randall David Bartlett, 66, Lakeview Ward, Omaha Nebraska Stake, called as president of the Winter Quarters Nebraska Temple, succeeding President Donald D. Deshler. President Bartlett’s wife, Diana LeSueur Bartlett, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Carol A. Deshler. He is the Idaho Boise Mission president and a former stake president, bishop, Nebraska Omaha Mission presidency councilor, and high councilor. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, to Kenneth Leroy John and Lorraine Jean Bartlett.

Sister Bartlett is a mission president companion and a former stake and ward Relief Society presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and ward Young Women presidency counselor. She was born in Los Angeles, California, to John Taylor and Dolores LeSueur.

Portland Oregon Temple

David Lee Garner, 70, Cascade Park Ward, Vancouver Washington Stake, called as president of the Portland Oregon Temple, succeeding President David A. Lundgreen. President Garner’s wife, Robin Sue Macdonald Garner, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Penelope J. Lundgreen. He is a temple ordinance worker and a former stake president, bishop, and senior missionary couple. Retired president of Qci-Vancouver, he was born in Nampa, Idaho, to Blaine Webster and Marceline Doman Garner.

Sister Garner is a former stake Young Women and Primary presidency counselor, ward Young Women president, and ward Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Robert Finlay and Clarice Maloy Macdonald.

Montreal Quebec Temple

Joseph Ghislain Guy Labbé, 60, Victoriaville Branch, Longueuil Quebec Stake, called as president of the Montreal Quebec Temple, succeeding President Michel J. Carter. President Labbé’s wife, Suzie Elza Trottier Labbé, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Danielle D. Carter. He is a Montreal Quebec Temple presidency counselor and a former stake presidency counselor, bishopric counselor, and branch president. Retired teacher, he was born in Victoriaville, Quebec, to Jean Marc Labbé and Olivette Levasseur.

Sister Labbé is an assistant to the matron of the Montreal Quebec Temple and a former district and branch Young Women president and stake, district, and branch Primary presidency counselor. She was born in Arthabaska, Quebec, to Martial Trottier and Marie Rose Ramsay.

Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Temple

Miguel Alfredo Lee Bruno, 63, Vineyard 3rd (Spanish) Ward, Orem Utah Vineyard Stake, called as president of the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Temple, succeeding President John E. Rappleye. President Lee’s wife, Angélica Enedina Rufino Gómez Lee, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Nancy L. Rappleye. He is a bishopric counselor and a former Area Seventy, Dominican Republic Santiago Mission president, stake president, and bishop. Retired facilities manager for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Alfredo António and Luz María Lee.

Sister Lee is an assistant Relief Society presidency secretary and a former mission president companion, stake and ward Relief Society presidency counselor, stake Primary president, and ward Relief Society president. She was born in Moca, Dominican Republic, to Ángel Generoso Rufino Collado and Ana Dolores Gómez Nuñez.

Seattle Washington Temple

Phillip Wayne McMullin, 71, Vashon Branch, Seattle Washington Stake, called as president of the Seattle Washington Temple, succeeding President John C. Ogden. President McMullin’s wife, Joy Anne Cahoon McMullin, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Judy Ogden. He is a temple sealer and a former Democratic Republic of the Congo Lubumbashi Mission president, stake president, and branch president. He was born in Seattle, Washington, to Wayne Pierce McMullin and Carroll Genevieve Campbell.

Sister McMullin is a temple ordinance worker and a former mission president companion, branch Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, and branch Primary president. She was born in Cardston, Alberta, to Leon Alder and Edna Richards Baker Cahoon.

Campinas Brazil Temple

Gilson Roberto Catherini Prieto, 63, Jardim Simus Ward, Sorocaba Brazil Stake, called as president of the Campinas Brazil Temple, succeeding President Alceu Arndt. President Prieto’s wife, Maria Claudete Gimines Prieto, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Marcia K. Arndt. He is an elders quorum president and a former Brazil Ribeirão Preto Mission president, stake president, bishop, and branch president. Self-employed business owner, he was born in Itu, São Paulo, Brazil, to Antonio and Helena Benedicta Catherini Prieto.

Sister Prieto is a ward Relief Society presidency counselor and a former mission president companion and ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary president. She was born in Itaberá, São Paulo, Brazil, to Julio Tunes and Liberty Rossi Gimenes.

Perth Australia Temple

Harvey James Scott, 73, Como Ward, Perth Australia Southern River Stake, called as president of the Perth Australia Temple, succeeding President Barry A. Spark. President Scott’s wife, Eril Patricia Young Scott, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Dawn M. Spark. He is a volunteer assistant temple recorder and temple sealer and a former Perth Australia Temple presidency counselor and bishop. Retired transport worker, he was born in Perth, Australia, to Lyle Harvey Scott and Doris Elizabeth Geere Jenkins.

Sister Scott is a ward Relief Society president and a former assistant to the matron of the Perth Australia Temple, stake Relief Society president, ward Young Women president, and temple ordinance worker. She was born in Sydney, Australia, to Eric Lawrence and Irene Patricia Young.

 Curitiba Brazil Temple

Getulio Walter Jagher e Silva, 62, Curitiba 5th Ward, Curitiba Brazil Boqueirão Stake, called as president of the Curitiba Brazil Temple, succeeding President Joaquim L. Oliveira. President Silva’s wife, Cintia de Fátima Nadolny e Silva, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Arabela L. Oliveira. He is a Sunday School teacher and a former Brazil Salvador South Mission president, stake president, and bishop. Institute director for the Church Educational System and assistant area auditor for the Brazil South Area, he was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, to Getulio Walter Cordeiro and Maria Emília Jagher e Silva.

Sister Silva is a Sunday School teacher and a former mission president companion, stake Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Relief Society presidency counselor, and ward Primary president. She was born in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil, to Vitório and Carmen Barbosa Nadolny.
