New 2017 Mission Presidents Called to Serve in Philippines, U.S., Japan, and Mexico
The following new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July.
Pedru U. and Carmela Y. Adduru
Pedro Ugaddan Adduru, 59, and Carmela Belleza Yumul Adduru, four children, Bagbag Ward, Quezon City Philippines Stake: Philippines Davao Mission, succeeding President Efren M. Lamoglia and Sister Marissa Lamoglia. Brother Adduru serves as an Area Seventy and is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, mission presidency counselor, district president, bishop, and missionary in the Philippines Davao Mission. Chairman of the board, Pace Electro Systems Inc. Born in Tuguegarao, Philippines, to Carlos Macarubbo Adduru and Engracia Talosig Ugaddan Adduru.
Sister Adduru serves as a temple ordinance worker and is a former ward Young Women president, seminary and institute teacher, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Relief Society chorister. Born in Quezon City, Philippines, to Lazaro Dizon Yumul and Clarita Belleza Yumul.
Jesús and Abigail Cepeda
Jesús Ricardo Cepeda Martínez, 53, and Estela Abigail Escobedo de Cepeda, five children, Modelo Ward, Matamoros México Stake: México Tijuana Mission, succeeding President Jorge A. García and Sister Amparo Soto de García. Brother Cepeda serves as a stake president and is a former stake presidency counselor, bishopric counselor, high councilor, ward mission leader, seminary teacher, and missionary in the México México City South Mission. Construction manager. Born in Rio Bravo, México, to Alfonso Cepeda and Elizabeth Martínez de Cepeda.
Sister Cepeda serves as an institute teacher and is a former stake Relief Society president, ward Primary president, ward Relief Society president, and Sunday School teacher. Born in Matamoros, México, to Enrique Escobedo and Blanca Estela Urrecha.
Stewart F. and Bonita C. Hughes
Stewart Fenton Hughes, 61, and Bonita Cutler Hughes, eight children, Windsor 6th Ward, Orem Utah Windsor Stake: Philippines Quezon City North Mission, succeeding President Kim C. Bertin and Sister Jennifer Bertin. Brother Hughes serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, branch president, and missionary in the England Leeds Mission. Chairman and chief executive officer, Unicity International. Born in St. George, Utah, to Fent Austin Hughes and Joyce Hunt Hughes.
Sister Hughes is a former stake Relief Society secretary; ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidency counselor; Young Women adviser; and Cub Scout leader. Born in Salt Lake City to Ivan Burton Cutler and Beth Ashton Cutler.
Scott C. and Mary B. Marsh
Scott Clyde Marsh, 63, and Mary Louise Bunker Marsh, five children, Winder 10th Ward, Salt Lake Winder Stake: Georgia Atlanta North Mission, succeeding President John E. Bennion and Sister Sondra S. Bennion. Brother Marsh serves as a high councilor and is a former bishop, stake Young Men president, elders quorum president, regional welfare specialist, and missionary in the New Zealand Auckland Mission. Sister Marsh serves as a ward organist and is a former stake Young Women president, ward Relief Society president, and welfare specialist. Born in Las Vegas, Nevada, to William Wayne Bunker and Lucy Bluth Bunker.
Takako and Osamu Sekiguchi
Osamu Sekiguchi, 54, and Takako Sekiguchi, two children, Nakano Ward, Tokyo Japan Stake: Japan Sendai Mission, succeeding President Jeffrey R. Smith and Sister Karen Smith. Brother Sekiguchi serves in a stake presidency and is a former high councilor, ward YSA adviser, Sunday School teacher, bishopric counselor, ward mission leader, and missionary in the Japan Nagoya Mission.
