New 2018 Mission Presidents Called to Canada, Philippines, Brazil, and More
The following new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July of 2018. Biographies of each mission presidency couple will be published throughout 2018 on news.ChurchofJesusChrist.org.
North Carolina Charlotte Mission
Detlef Harry Adler, 59, and Jutta Helga Verena Weiler Adler, four children, Bielefeld Ward, Hannover Germany Stake: North Carolina Charlotte Mission, succeeding President Allen B. Alexander and Sister Denise Alexander. Brother Adler serves as a Primary teacher and is a former Area Seventy, stake president, high councilor, stake Young Men president, and bishop. Born in Darmstadt, Germany, to Manfred Paul Adler and Ida Maria Ruth Adler.
Sister Adler serves as a Primary teacher and is a former stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Primary president, and seminary and institute teacher. Born in Darmstadt, Germany, to Ernst Heinrich Wilhelm Weiler and Katharina Wilhelmine Wupper.
California Santa Rosa Mission
Bradley John Bentley, 56, and Lynne Smith Bentley, five children, Lindon 7th Ward, Lindon Utah Central Stake: California Santa Rosa Mission, succeeding President Jim L. Wright and Sister Tina Wright. Brother Bentley serves as a stake self-reliance specialist and is a former bishop, stake and ward Young Men president, elders quorum president, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Argentina Cordoba Mission. Born in Cedar City, Utah, to John Clyde Bentley and Karen Boardman Bentley.
Sister Bentley serves as a stake self-reliance specialist and is a former ward Relief Society president, ward Primary and Young Women presidency counselor, and Sunday School teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Owen Keith Smith and Saundra Proctor Smith.
Brazil Salvador South Mission
Michael Clyde Biddulph, 52, and Marla Phyllis Moore Biddulph, five children, Ammon 7th Ward, Ammon Idaho Foothills Stake: Brazil Salvador South Mission, succeeding President G. Paulo Bangerter and Sister JaLayne G. Bangerter. Brother Biddulph is a former stake president, bishop, high councilor, bishopric counselor, Sunday School teacher, and missionary in the Brazil São Paulo North Mission. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Edwin Clyde Biddulph and Jeanne Merkley Biddulph.
Sister Biddulph serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former ward Young Women and Primary president, ward Relief Society presidency counselor, and Relief Society teacher. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Keith William Moore and Nadine Madolon Moore.
Nebraska Omaha Mission
James Norman Ence, 67, and Deborah Jennings Ence, five children, Santa Clara 1st Ward, Santa Clara Utah Stake: Nebraska Omaha Mission, succeeding President Chad B. Gardner and Sister Susie Gardner. Brother Ence is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, stake mission president, ward Young Men president, elders quorum president, and missionary in the Japan Okinawa Mission. Born in St. George, Utah, to Kenneth Ence and Anneliese Buggert.
Sister Ence serves as a Sunday School teacher and is a former stake and ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women presidency counselor, and ward temple and family history consultant. Born in Cedar City, Utah, to Raynel Jennings and Arvilla Bauer James.
Portugal Lisbon Mission
Brent Dwayne Fillmore, 52, and Joan Woodbury Fillmore, six children, Meadowbrook Ward, Logan Utah Stake: Portugal Lisbon Mission, succeeding President Victor Tavares and Sister Edglê Tavares. Brother Fillmore is a former stake presidency counselor, bishop, stake and ward Young Men president, high councilor, bishopric counselor, Primary teacher, and missionary in the Brazil Porto Alegre South Mission. Born in Payson, Utah, to Wade Wride Fillmore and Katheryne Joanne Bailey Fillmore.
Sister Fillmore is a former stake Primary president; ward Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidency counselor; Primary music leader; and Primary teacher. Born in Flagstaff, Arizona, to Gerald Charles Woodbury and Mona Rae Woodbury.
Canada Calgary Mission
Stephen Aubrey Keung, 60, and Cindy Patricia Ann Dennis Keung, three children, Washington D.C. 3rd Ward, Washington D.C. Stake: Canada Calgary Mission, succeeding President Stephen P. Miles and Sister Lori Miles. Brother Keung serves as an assistant ward clerk and is a former stake president, MTC presidency counselor, district president, stake mission president, ward mission leader, and missionary in the New Zealand Christchurch Mission. Born in Auckland, New Zealand. Son of James Wong Keung and Audrey Keung.
Sister Keung serves as a Primary teacher and is a former stake and ward Young Women president, stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Primary president, district Relief Society president, stake public affairs director, and nursery leader. Born in Gisborne, New Zealand, to Claude Dennis and Patricia Raukura Dennis.
Philippines Butuan Mission
Jose Antonio Tabanera San Gabriel, 55, and Sariah Mia Villanueva San Gabriel, two children, Consolacion 1st Ward, Cebu Philippines Consolacion Stake: Philippines Butuan Mission, succeeding President Avelino N. Santillan and Sister Leonor M. Santillan. Brother San Gabriel serves as a stake president and is a former bishop, stake presidency counselor, stake Young Men president, and missionary in the Philippines Baguio Mission. Born in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines, to Ruben Santos San Gabriel and Angelica Tabanera San Gabriel.

Born in Bacolod, Philippines, to Rufino Alvarez Villanueva Jr. and Josefina Piedad Sacro Villanueva.
