New Temple Presidents Called to Serve in Mexico, Manti, Fiji, and Canada

Manti Utah Temple.
The following four new temple presidents and matrons have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in November.
Villahermosa Mexico Temple
Elpidio F. and Raquel A. Contreras
Elpidio Francisco Contreras Cepeda, 67, Hidalgo Ward, Monterrey Mexico Morelos Stake, called as president of the Villahermosa Mexico Temple, succeeding President Marvin E. Turley. President Contreras’s wife, Raquel Mary Almaguer Compeán de Contreras, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Janis K. Turley. He is a stake Young Men president and temple sealer and a former stake president, bishop, branch president, and high councilor. Retired computer systems specialist, he was born in Saltillo, Mexico, to José Contreras Morales and Lucía Cepeda Salas.
Sister Contreras is a stake Young Women president and a former stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and seminary teacher. She was born in Davenport, Iowa, to Carlos Almaguer Echartea and Olga de Almaguer Compeán.
Manti Utah Temple
Douglas M. and Valerie B. Dyreng
Douglas Morgan Dyreng, 70, Manti 5th Ward, Manti Utah Stake, called as president of the Manti Utah Temple, succeeding President Lon B. Nally. President Dyreng’s wife, Valerie Kay Brown Dyreng, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Kaye P. Nally. He is a Sunday School teacher and temple sealer and a former stake president and bishop. Retired dean of business and technology at Snow College, he was born in Manti, Utah, to Ray Morgan and Helen Dyreng.
Sister Dyreng is a ward Relief Society presidency counselor and temple ordinance worker and a former stake Relief Society and Primary president and ward Relief Society and Young Women president. She was born in Salt Lake City to Louis Ray and Kathleen Jensen Brown.
Suva Fiji Temple
Alipate and Anaisi T. Tagidugu
Alipate Tagidugu, 67, Korovou Branch, Korovou Fiji District, called as president of the Suva Fiji Temple, succeeding President Jackson C. Yee. President Tagidugu’s wife, Anaisi Ratauvata Toaca Tagidugu, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Mele Seniteteva Yee. He is a counselor in the Fiji Suva Mission presidency and a former stake president, bishop, high councilor, and senior missionary. Retired chief fire officer, he was born in Naitutu, Fiji, to Sitiveni and Anaseini Baubauca.
Sister Tagidugu is a former stake Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, senior missionary, and temple ordinance worker. Born in Nausori, Fiji, to Seremaia Baledra Toaca and Kinisimere Namoce.
Vancouver British Columbia Temple
Collin J. and Cathering A. Van Horne
Collin James Van Horne, 60, Port Alberni Ward, Nanaimo British Columbia Stake, called as president of the Vancouver British Columbia Temple, succeeding President Thomas E. Walker. President Van Horne’s wife, Catherine Denise Anderson Van Horne, will serve as temple matron, succeeding Sister Linda D. Walker. He is a Sunday School teacher and temple sealer and a former stake president and branch president. Retired accountant, he was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia, to L.A. Basil and M. Patricia Sharkey Van Horne.
Sister Van Horne is a stake Relief Society president and temple ordinance worker and a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, ward temple and family history consultant, and seminary teacher. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Hugh Alan and Doreen May Knepp Anderson.
