A Book of Mormon prophet named Lehi dreams a vision that symbolizes our journey back to God. In the vision, he stumbles through a dark wilderness and finds his way to the tree of life with the most delicious fruit he’s ever tasted. He sees others making their way to the tree along a strait and narrow path. But some stray from the path and are lost or drown. He tells his family about the dream and pleads with them to follow God’s commandments.

King Noah is a wicked and lazy ruler. He is angry when the prophet Abinadi tells him and the people to repent and turn to God. The king orders his priests to kill Abinadi but God protects him. Abinadi says it doesn’t matter what King Noah does to him, but only after he finishes giving God’s message. He teaches the Ten Commandments and salvation through Jesus Christ, converting one of the priests. Abinadi is burned at the stake, sealing his witness of Jesus with his life.

King Benjamin gathers his people to hear him preach the gospel of Jesus Christ one last time and to confer the kingdom upon his son Mosiah. The king teaches them that when they serve on another, they are serving God.

Alma and his friends are rebelling against God, setting a bad example, and drawing followers away from the church. An angel appears to them and commands them to stop trying to destroy the church. Alma is so frightened that he falls unconscious. His mind is tortured by all his sins until he finally remembers his father teaching him about Jesus Christ. When he wakes up, he spends the rest of his life preaching and trying to repair the harm he caused.

Alma and Amulek preach of Jesus Christ, angering the leaders of the city Ammonihah. When a skilled lawyer tries to twist their words, they cannot be fooled. They convince the lawyer, but are taken prisoner anyway. They are forced to watch as other believers and sacred writings are burned. In prison, Alma and Amulek are beaten and mocked for days. Alma asks God to deliver them and the prison walls come crashing down, killing their captors but leaving Alma and Amulek unharmed.

Ammon and the sons of Mosiah want everyone to have the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, even their enemies, the Lamanites. Ammon is captured by the Lamanite king, Lamoni. He asks to become Lamoni’s servant and gains his favor. While watching the king’s sheep, thieves attack and Ammon cuts off every arm raised against him. The servants tell Lamoni and he thinks Ammon is a god. Ammon takes the opportunity to teach him about Jesus and the king believes his words.
