How Can Church Benefit You?
We each have our own individual needs and reasons for seeking out a church. Even though we may not know you, we believe that God knows you and loves you, and He can direct your life as you draw near to Him. One way to grow closer to Him is attending church. Here are a few benefits of worshipping with us.
Feel close to God
Maybe you’re struggling with a specific question or need some direction in your life. Maybe you just need to feel God’s love and know that He is there. As you listen to sermons and study God’s teachings, you will have opportunities to receive insight from God and feel close to Him. He wants to communicate with you, and church is a place to hear His voice in your heart and mind.
Participate in the sacrament (or Communion)
At church, members partake of the sacrament (or Communion). Jesus commanded, “Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24). Keeping this commandment weekly at church, we dedicate time to ponder, pray, and remember what Jesus has done for us. We commit to follow Him and seek inspiration for how we can become more like Him.
Church services teach and uplift
What we learn at church gives us guidance on how to follow God, improve our spirituality, and live better lives. You can be uplifted by fellow believers and by the opportunity to serve and worship. You can also feel the Holy Spirit who brings “love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, [and] faith” (Galatians 5:22).
Feel connected, supported, and understood
Church is a community where we can socialize and support each other. You can make friends, feel a sense of belonging, and build a support network that you can rely on. The Church community helps us to “mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort” (Mosiah 18:9).
Learn from living prophets
In addition to the scriptures, we rely on a living prophet and living apostles to guide us today. While we don’t hear from them every Sunday, we listen to them at least twice a year in a worldwide Church meeting called general conference. Prophets help us know how to keep Jesus a priority in our fast-paced lives and also provide spiritual guidance for the unique challenges and opportunities of today’s world.
Hear about Other’s Experiences
Ali
"One of the ways I hear Him is through listening to the faith building stories of others. I love testimony meetings on the first Sunday of the month because they are filled with experiences of how people have felt the hand of God touch their lives, seen miracles, or been converted to the Savior. These experiences bolster my faith and remind me of my own conversion experiences."

"I love that everyone is unique and has different accomplishments and trials. This allows us to learn from each other, to focus more on others, and to understand that we are all trying to be more Christlike. I love attending church and learning more from others and hearing their testimonies. That has helped me to continue to grow my own testimony."

"For me, it is the only place where I am allowed to make mistakes. Where there are multiple hands to pull me up if I fall. A true brotherhood and sisterhood is experienced in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints communities."

What happens after I attend?
We hope you’ll find a Sunday to join us! If you enjoy your experience and want to continue to build your faith with us, we recommend you meet with the missionaries and consider baptism.
Missionaries can help you learn about our beliefs by sharing brief messages about Jesus, God’s plan for you, how you can strengthen your family, and many other subjects. They can answer your questions about the Church and how to become a member.
Meeting with the missionaries doesn't mean you have decided to join the Church. It's simply a way you can learn more about it. As you meet with the missionaries, you’ll gain a testimony of Jesus and His gospel and can follow His example by being baptized. Jesus was baptized by immersion in the Jordan River by John the Baptist (see Matthew 3:13–17).
We invite you to come meet with us, learn of Jesus, and enjoy all the benefits our Church and community offer.
