Many elements of our Sunday worship services will feel familiar if you’ve ever worshipped with another Christian denomination. We pray, we sing together, and we listen to sermons centered on Jesus Christ and His teachings. But a few of these elements may feel different from what you’re used to:

1. Members of the congregation take turns giving sermons instead of hearing from the bishop (similar to a pastor) every week.
2. We take the sacrament every week, not just periodically. During our main worship service (which is called “sacrament meeting”), the bread and water representing the Savior’s body and blood are blessed and passed to members of the congregation.
3. Our Sunday worship music tends toward the more traditional side, with hymns accompanied by an organ or piano. You’ll find a hymnal by your seat if you want to sing along.
4. Congregations all over the world follow the same schedule and curriculum for Sunday School classes. You can study the material during the week individually or with family and friends and then listen to an instructor and share insights on Sundays. If you’re ill, traveling, or visiting another congregation, you won’t fall behind or feel lost.

You’re welcome to come in any clothes you feel comfortable in. Most men wear button-up shirts and ties, women typically wear dresses or skirts, and children usually dress up too.
