A woman praying and fasting

Feed Your Faith. Draw Nearer to God through Fasting.

Fasting, or going without food or drink, has been practiced for thousands of years around the world. While fasting has several physical health benefits, the goals of a religious fast are primarily spiritual—to bring us closer to God, to ask for His blessings upon ourselves or others, and to strengthen our faith.

Even Jesus, who had perfect faith, fasted (see Luke 4:1–4). If you find yourself in need of God’s guidance or feeling far from His presence, you can also fast. Meet with missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to learn more about fasting and other ways you can connect with God.
