The Book of Mormon is a book of scripture and is another testament of Jesus Christ. It tells the story of followers of Jesus Christ in the ancient Americas. It also tells of His personal ministry among the people of the Americas.
Adele Cannon Howells was a former Primary (or children’s organization) leader of the Church. In the 1950s, she felt the need to help children visualize the Book of Mormon prophets so they too could come unto Christ. She commissioned a noted magazine illustrator, Arnold Friberg, to create 12 images of Book of Mormon prophets. The prophets depicted in these paintings lived in the ancient Americas and invited those around them to come unto Christ.
The gallery hosts the originals of these paintings that are based on the following experiences and scriptures in the Book of Mormon.
