A Pioneer Story

The Saints walked on foot and drove their wagons across the slippery ice away from their beautiful homes in __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ . It was very difficult to travel at this time of year. The Saints stopped at many places along the way, including Sugar Creek, Garden __ __ __ __ __ , and Winter Quarters. They traveled over 1,000 miles across the plains, following their leader, Brigham __ __ __ __ __ , to their new home in the Rocky Mountains. The first group of Saints arrived in the Salt Lake Valley on July 24, 1847.
