Satellites Overview

General Women's Meeting - Gilbert, AZ

Satellite is a broadcast technology employed by the Church to send broadcasts of general conference and other devotionals and trainings from Church headquarters to stake centers and other meetinghouses around the world. The equipment used for satellite transmission includes a satellite dish mounted close to the building and a receiver unit in the meetinghouse that distributes the signal through the building’s AV system. The satellite transmission system is a one-way system: it enables signals to be transmitted to the stake centers but not back to Church headquarters.
