Jonah has one of the most famous stories of all time. He was swallowed by a giant fish!
Do you know why, though? It’s because the Lord was giving him a chance to repent. Jonah didn’t want to go where the Lord had called him to serve. He didn’t like the people who lived there and didn’t think they deserved to hear God’s messages for them.
His change of heart tells us an important lesson about trusting God’s mercy. The Lord didn’t give up on the people of Ninevah, He didn’t give up on Jonah, and He won’t give up on us either! We can always return to Him.
