In some places, if a person has a “green thumb” it means they are good at caring for plants. Have you ever tried to grow something? Maybe your family could try planting a seed or caring for a new plant!
Multiple scriptures mention seeds. Right now we are reading about how Lehi’s family took seeds with them on their journey in the wilderness (see 1 Nephi 8:24, for example). Other scriptures talk about how we reap what we sow in life—we get what we plant (see Galatians 6:7, for example).
Here are some low-fuss plants that are easy to care for:
- Spider plants: Don’t worry, these plants don’t bite! They’re low-maintenance and can even help clean the air in your home.
- Pothos: These plants are also pretty chill. They can tolerate low light and rarely need to be watered.
- Snake plants: These plants are so easy to care for, even a snake could do it! Haha.
What can we learn from the process of growing and caring for plants? What plants are important in your family’s life?
