Five Messages from the First Vision

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles had a powerful experience when he was 16 years old, sharing his testimony of Joseph Smith’s First Vision with other youth. Recently he reflected on that experience and shared five messages that he takes from what happened in the Sacred Grove:

1. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost are separate beings.
2. We are sons and daughters of God.
3. We can be forgiven of our sins.
4. Our Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers.
5. The Father and Son know us personally.
