Goal: Be a Full-Tithe Payer

The Savior taught us to “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart” and to “love thy neighbor as thyself” (see Matthew 22:37-39). Paying tithing is one way we can do this. Being a full-tithe payer is also a commandment from God. As you diligently obey this commandment, your love for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will grow. You will begin to see that sacrificing 10 percent of your income seems small in comparison to the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for you and the blessings you receive daily. Your tithing will help the work of the Lord’s Church move forward, and the Lord will bless you for your obedience.

• Set up a bank account or create a safe place to store money for your tithing. Put in 10 percent of any financial income as soon as you get it. Over time, this will become a habit.
• Learn how to fill out a tithing donation slip or how to donate online at donations.ChurchofJesusChrist.org. (In the United States, you have to be 13 or older to fill out an online donation.)
• Pray for an increased testimony of tithing. Read and study Malachi 3:10. Ponder the blessings promised by the Lord to those who pay tithing, and write your thoughts in your journal.
• Ask a parent or trusted adult to share their testimony of tithing and the blessings of being a full-tithe payer. Record these thoughts as part of your family history.
• Study the principle of tithing, and share a short lesson with your family or in a quorum or class meeting.
