God loves you.

You can approach Him with confidence.

God is the most powerful being in the universe. Naturally, we approach Him with reverence and respect. But He is also our Father and He loves us. He wants to bless us! We shouldn’t be afraid of Him. (In the scriptures, to “fear” God means to respect Him.)

What’s more, when you were baptized you entered a covenant relationship with God. You promised to try your best to live the gospel, and to repent when you make mistakes. In return, God promised to bless, guide, and direct you through the Holy Ghost.

So if you’re doing your best to live the gospel, you have every right to feel confident when you ask Heavenly Father for help.

As Paul put it, “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16, emphasis added).

You and Heavenly Father and Christ are yoked together in a covenant relationship. Their grace—Their strength and divine help— can be yours. Approach God with a humble but confident attitude, knowing that He loves you and is eager to bless you.
