Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ created this beautiful world for us.

The beginning of the Bible describes how “God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). Here’s what happened over the next seven days.

Day One: “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. … And God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night” (Genesis 1:3–5).

Old Testament Stories: The Creation of the Earth

Day Two: “And God said, Let there be a firmament. … And God called the firmament Heaven” (Genesis 1:6–8).

Day Three: “And God said, Let the waters … be gathered together … and let the dry land appear. … And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas” (Genesis 1:9–10).

Day Four: “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven. … And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also” (Genesis 1:14–16).

Day Five: “And God created … every living creature that moveth” (Genesis 1:21).

Creation of animals and fowls

Day Six: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. … Male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:26–27).

Adam and Eve

Day Seven: “And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). “And on the seventh day … he rested … from all his work which he had made” (Genesis 2:2).

God created this earth for us, and we should take care of it. Everything He created has a purpose. We also have our own unique purposes here on earth.

The Creation, after all, was only the beginning!
