Key Principle: Wherever possible, make a direct restitution to all persons you have harmed.Making amends takes time and patience. Listen to members relate true experiences as they strive to make restitution and live in harmony with the commandments of the Lord.

Key Principle: Make a written list of all persons you have harmed and become willing to make restitution to them.Listen to true accounts of members as they seek to forgive themselves and make amends with others.

Key Principle: Humbly ask Heavenly Father to remove your shortcomings.Listen as members recount how they humbled themselves and learned to put their past in the past and trust Heavenly Father.

Key Principle: Become entirely ready to have God remove all your character weaknesses.Listen as members reflect upon their healing decision to abstain from past addictions through a deepening relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Key Principle: Admit to yourself, to your Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, to proper priesthood authority, and to another person, the exact nature of your wrongs.Listen as members begin to seek forgiveness by confessing of past sins and then finding the peace and joy that comes with the miracle of forgiveness.

Key Principle: Decide to turn your will and your life over to the care of God the Eternal Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.Listen to members share their personal decision to trust and obey God, change what they can change, and to accept what they cannot change.

Key Principle: Come to believe that the power of God can restore you to complete spiritual health.Listen to members convey their feelings as they learn to believe in the love and mercy of God the Eternal Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

Key Principle: Admit that you, of yourself, are powerless to overcome your addictions and that your life has become unmanageable.Listen to members share the personal story of their addiction and how they learned to admit the problem, seek help, and attend meetings.

Key Principle: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, share this message with others and practice these principles in all you do.Listen as members in recovery share a message of hope for all who are troubled or afflicted. God does perform miracles in our lives.
