Let’s get to know Elder Ulisses Soares!

As a teenager, Elder Ulisses Soares bought something each month that he would need later as a missionary, like a pair of socks or a tie. He had decided to serve a mission when he was 11 years old! Here are some other fun facts about him.

Elder Soares:

• Served as a missionary in the Brazil Rio de Janeiro Mission.
• Attended the São Paulo Pontifical Catholic University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics and a master’s degree in business administration.
• Speaks English, French, and Spanish in addition to his native Portuguese.
• Married Rosana Fernandes in 1982 in the São Paulo Brazil Temple. They have three children.
• Is the first Latin American Apostle! He was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in March 2018.
