For the Nephites who believed the prophecies about the Savior, it was a dark time.
Nonbelievers were persecuting them, saying the time had passed for the prophecies to be fulfilled.
They even set a deadline: If the signs don’t appear by such-and-such date, we’ll kill everyone who believes (see 3 Nephi 1:9).
Can you imagine how scary that would be?
But this dark time soon turned light—literally. The Lord always does what He says He will do!
