Make your smashbook!

A fun idea from your Young Women leaders.

Have you ever heard of a “smashbook” journal?

It’s the perfect way to capture all the memories you’ll make together at camp, and here’s how you can do it!

What You’ll Need:

  • Scissors ✂️
  • Paper (all kinds—scrapbook paper, old magazines, colored paper, and so on) 📄
  • Glue or glue sticks 🧴
  • Tape (Washi tape is super cute!) 🎀
  • Markers, pens, and pencils 🖊️
  • Stickers, stamps, and any other decorations you like 🌿
  • Photos, postcards, or little mementos 📸
  • An old notebook, sketchbook, or even just some loose pages to bind together 📔

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Gather your supplies. Bring all your fun papers, stickers, markers, and anything else you want to use. Don’t worry if you don’t have everything—you can share!
  2. Choose your base. This can be a plain notebook, an old sketchbook, or just some loose pages you can bind together later. This is going to be the foundation of your smashbook.
  3. Get creative with the cover. Decorate the cover of your book to make it totally YOU. Use anything that shows off your personality and style.
  4. Start filling the pages. Create a title page, add pockets and envelopes, make space for a daily journal and photos, add fun daily prompts to answer, and decorate everywhere in between. Scroll down for fun ideas.

There’s no right or wrong way to do this—just have fun and be creative!

Once your smashbook is ready, pack it with your camp stuff so you can keep adding to it while you’re there!
