Old friends, new friends.

Here’s Ana’s 99+1 story!

I was born in Mexico, but I moved to Canada when I was eleven. Although it was a cultural shock at first, I was familiar with the language, so making friends was easy, especially in my ward.

I absolutely adored going to church every Sunday and during the week for activities. However, when I turned 14, my parents decided to move to a different part of Canada. This made me very upset because the mere thought of saying goodbye to my friends broke my heart! I was against it every step of the way, mostly because I was scared I would lose my connection with my friends.

I prayed to Heavenly Father a lot. The move was really hard at first, but there was a young woman from my old ward who texted me every day after I left. We texted so much it eventually became a part of our daily routine!

I’m 16 now, and I just came back from FSY. My friendship with that texting friend is as strong as ever! Plus now I have new friends that I love so much, and they never would’ve been a part of my life if I hadn’t moved in the first place.

I’m so thankful for that one friend who never lost connection. She’s helped me through my darkest times and vice versa. Sometimes you never know how much you’re helping someone, but Heavenly Father knows.

I have such a testimony that things happen for a reason, because God has a special and unique plan for each and every single one of us.

99+1 Ana
