My family is going on a short vacation soon. We got a couple copies of the Book of Mormon to take with us to give away.
We don’t yet know who is going to get them. Maybe it will be a server at a restaurant or someone we talk to at a gas station or while we are hiking. We are just taking the copies with faith that God will guide us.
We’ve learned that instead of starting out by telling people all about the book and sharing our testimonies the way we do at church, it is better to focus on the person receiving the book.
For example, if a server has been especially attentive, we might say, “You have been so friendly and helpful we would like to thank you by giving you something that is special to us. This is a book about Jesus Christ, like the Bible. When we read this book it helps us feel peaceful and happy.”
If you don’t want to carry around books, you could invite someone to download the Book of Mormon app.
