Our ancestors didn’t have the ability to take pictures as much we do today. Photography was expensive and took a long time. And definitely wasn’t done by a device that could fit in a pocket!
Today, look for old photos in your family belongings. Maybe your parents have some old albums? Try to identify who is in the photo, and add it to their FamilySearch “memories” so other people can enjoy it for years to come!
Even posting your Thanksgiving pictures on Instagram is family history work because it’s creating a record of what you did during the holiday. (Shout-out to Canadian friends who are celebrating today!) Pictures are so powerful.
We will be strengthened and blessed as we work to connect with our family members—past and present!
