Respectful, caring words help heal the world.

Yes, your words matter!

There’s an old saying that says “Sticks and stones can break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”

With all due respect to whoever came up with that couplet years ago, it’s simply not true!

Words—whether in person or online—can hurt. And the flip side is also true: words can heal.

Are we choosing words that build positive relationships and communicate God’s love?

As one Primary song says:
“If the Savior stood beside me,
Would I say the things I say?
Would my words be true and kind if He were never far away?
Would I try to share the gospel?
Would I speak more reverently
If I could see the Savior standing nigh, watching over me?”1
