Did you notice the idea of “joy” seemed like a golden thread weaving so many conference messages together?
From her home in Canada, a young woman named Danelle was listening intently to these talks.
“Recently I’ve been pondering whether I should serve a mission,” she said. “I always felt like I should go, but have been held back by doubtful thoughts—like what if it’s not right or what the Lord wants for me?”
Denelle did her best to have an open heart and mind as she tried to understand the Lord’s will. And it paid off!
“During general conference I felt strongly that the Lord wants me to serve however I am able, including a mission,” she said.
Talks about joy, like the one by Elder Patrick Kearon, especially encouraged and inspired her.
“As he said, this is the Church of joy—and I want to share that joy!”
