The Book of Mormon is about people who lived thousands of miles from where Jesus Christ lived, yet almost every page testifies of the Savior. Some of the most wonderful teachings about His Atonement are found in the Book of Mormon. Like it says on the cover, it truly is “another testament of Jesus Christ.”
Has studying the Book of Mormon this year affected your relationship with the Savior? The year’s still young, so if you don’t notice any changes yet, don’t give up! If you keep reading, by the end of the year you’ll feel closer to Him and understand more of His gospel. For example, we recently read:
- Jacob’s description of the resurrection (see 2 Nephi 9)
- Some of Isaiah’s prophecies about the Savior (see 2 Nephi 19)
- Teachings about baptism, the Holy Ghost, and eternal life (see 2 Nephi 31)
As you celebrate Easter this week, think about the testimonies of the Book of Mormon prophets who lived before He was born but had faith in Him as though He had already come. What can you learn from their examples?
