Gospel Living

The Lord will always forgive us.

As long as we keep repenting!

Sometimes we mistakenly think that repenting is something we do only if we really mess up—that the goal is to never need to repent.

But here’s the truth. The point of life is that we will always need to repent. Every single day! The system was built that way!

“My friends, repentance is joy!” testified Elder Jorge M. Alvarado of the Seventy in general conference. “Sweet repentance is part of a daily process.”1

As we repent, our hearts are increasingly turned to Jesus Christ. We accept Him as our Savior and try to become more like him little by little.

Repentance is a joyful process by which we shake off what is holding us back and embrace greater goodness. It gives us “a fresh view about God, about ourselves, and about the world.”2 This is the healing the Atonement of Jesus Christ offers us!

Try making a habit of talking to God every night about the choices you made throughout your day. Apologize for the ways you fell short. This is the beginning of daily repentance.

It feels so good!

Embrace the Change

What can you do to repent in meaningful ways this week?

“How Is It Done”

1. I don’t understand it,
But I feel it in my heart.
It’s a healing that fills me,
and it shines through the dark.
I’ve been forgiven.
All my wrongs have been erased.
And it just took a little faith.

Chorus:
How is it done
That beggars like me
Can feel the love He freely gives
that opens eyes and makes us free?
How does this hope
Live in my soul?
And though I don’t deserve His grace,
I know that He will make me whole.
How is it done? How is it done?

2. I can hold my head up.
My redeemer carries me
Through the deserts to the mountains,
and He fills me with peace.
It’s so overwhelming,
But I’m grateful for the light.
It leads me through my darkest nights.

[Chorus x2]
