Here’s what 2 Nephi 5 might’ve been like.
This is a pivotal and dramatic chapter in the Book of Mormon. It’s where the righteous followers of Nephi split off from their brethren, leading to a rivalry that would continue off and on (mostly on) for nearly a thousand years.
Here are a few other highlights:
- Nephi is commanded to make the plates and engrave the words we’ve been reading.
- His sisters are mentioned (see 2 Nephi 5:6).
- Nephi laments his own shortcomings and prays to the Lord for deliverance. The Lord doesn’t let him down.
