The Savior encourages us to become childlike, not childish.

There’s a difference!

Have you ever wondered what the Savior meant when He said we should “become as little children” (Matthew 18:3)?

Does it mean we should cry a lot and throw tantrums and stop doing anything for ourselves, like a childish toddler?

Not so much. The verses around this phrase give us some different ideas. They mention:

  • Being converted.
  • Humbling ourselves.

Think of the best traits of children: they spend all day learning new things, they try and fail and try again, they are often quick to make friends, they don’t get too hung up on comparing themselves with others ... the list could go on and on! That simple goodness and confidence and kindness is what Jesus Christ wants us to strive for. That’s childlike, not childish.

So let your inner child out this week! In a good way. :)
