Theme Meme: “I Strive”

“I strive” and similar phrases are found all throughout the Young Women theme. “I strive to qualify for exaltation,” “[I] seek to improve each day,” and “I strive to become like [Jesus Christ]” are all beautiful, truthful phrases found in the theme.

Colossians 1:29 helps us understand what striving really looks like: “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.”

In other words, as we strive, Christ works in us, meaning He is there with us in the effort, sustaining us. Striving isn’t something we do alone. Our Savior is beside us. He is the source of mighty strength we need to keep going, even when we sometimes fall short. What a beautiful image that is: Christ working in us, with us striving according to His working.

So no matter where you are on your journey back to God—keep going! You and Christ can do it together.
