When the Savior visited the Nephites after His Resurrection, He had several chapters’ worth of important things to tell them.
For example, he quoted the prophet Malachi, whose teachings weren’t on the brass plates because he hadn’t been born yet when Lehi left Jerusalem.
One of Malachi’s subjects—tithing—comes with an awesome promise.
“Prove me now herewith, sayeth the Lord of Hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it” (3 Nephi 24:10).
In other words, “Go ahead, test me and see if I’m telling the truth.”
The Lord is saying, in effect, “Try me.”
If you have income but haven’t discovered the blessings of tithing yet for yourself, now is a great time to start! Give the Lord one dollar for every ten dollars you make. The bishop or one of his counselors can explain how.
The Lord is eager to prove that His promises are true!
