If we follow Jesus Christ, we treat others with love.
When we “mock,” we look down on others and make fun of them. The Lord has made it clear that this is wrong. Today’s scripture of the day warns us not to mock God’s plan. (See Jacob 6:8.)
Here’s what other scriptures say:
- In the last days, many will mock the gospel. (See 2 Peter 3:3.)
- We shouldn’t respond to being mocked by becoming mockers ourselves. (See Doctrine and Covenants 31:9.)
- All of us should treat each other as equals. (See Doctrine and Covenants 38:24.)
- Jesus Christ, who was mocked plenty, set an example of kindness. (See Matthew 5:44).
This doesn’t mean we can’t disagree with other people. It just means that we should be polite and respectful as we do so.
It’s the meek—not the mockers—who will inherit joy!
