Here are four takeaways!

Have you noticed that the Book of Mormon is full of some EPIC friendship stories?! Their examples can teach us a lot about drawing closer to Christ while growing closer to each other.

1. Nephi and Zoram: Embrace the Unexpected

When Nephi went to get the brass plates, he didn’t expect to return with Zoram, who would become a lifelong friend! (See 2 Nephi 1:30.)

Takeaway: Relationships can come and go throughout life. As we stay faithful to God, include others, and try new things, we never know when our next friend will appear.

2. Ammon and King Lamoni: Bridging Differences

They came from very different backgrounds. Their people were often at war with each other! But they looked past differences and got to know each other as fellow children of God. (See Alma 18.)

3. Abish and the Queen: Lifting Others

These women from very different socioeconomic circles shared a miraculous spiritual experience. They lifted people up, both physically and spiritually, and helped change an entire kingdom. (See Alma 19.)

Takeaway: As we look beyond the worldly things that might separate us, we can work with other faithful people to change the world.

4. Pahoran and Captain Moroni: Talking and Forgiving

They were trying to save their country from war and could only communicate through letters. This led to major misunderstandings! Instead of staying offended, they forgave each other.
