Did you know that you’re constantly blessed by the tithes you contribute and by the tithes of others? It’s true. We often think about tithing funds being used to build and maintain buildings like meetinghouses and temples. And that’s certainly one way the tithes of the Church are used. But consider what happens in these buildings. Testimonies are given. Hymns that bring the Spirit are sung. Ordinances are performed. Lessons are shared. In short, lives are blessed.
With that perspective, we can clearly see that tithing isn’t just used to lay bricks and build buildings. It’s also how the Lord builds His people, how He blesses us, encourages us, refines us. As well as others.
And since tithing is used for missionary efforts too, your tithing is also blessing the rest of the world as well.
So the next time you pay your tithing, remember: you’re helping to build God’s kingdom and all of His children. In the process, God is building you.
