You can find stillness.

Here’s a thought from your young women leaders.

Do you ever feel stressed and like you are caught in the storms of life?

I sometimes struggle with anxious thoughts.

One day when I was feeling particularly anxious, I opened my scriptures to Alma 1:33 and read “they became more still.”

In this chapter, members of the Church were struggling with persecution, but they found peace in their trials as they became more still.

I think there is something sacred about stillness, and I’ve noticed that I often feel closest to God when I am still.

Whether we are dealing with a storm on the sea or going through a trial, we can find peace and strength in stillness.

Jesus Christ exemplified stillness and invited others to do the same (see Mark 4:39).

To become more still, I have focused on kneeling when I pray. I also try to start my day by reading a scripture before looking at my phone or getting distracted by something else.

What is something you are doing or can do this week to become more still?
