Our Commitment to Accessibility

Read the First Presidency’s statement on accessibility as well as our plan to improve access for all to come unto Christ.

Message from the First Presidency

Colorful geometric shapes compose this sacred scene from the life of Jesus Christ. A blind man kneels before Jesus Christ, his hands clasped, asking to be healed. Christ stands, bending toward the man, his fingers touch the man's eyes while three men and a woman look on.

As leaders and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we follow the example of Jesus Christ, and we invite all to come unto Him (see Matthew 11:28).

We are committed to supporting the accessibility needs of individuals with disabilities so that all can connect, worship, and serve.

We encourage leaders and employees to proactively address accessibility needs.

Our Approach to Online Accessibility

Official Portrait of Elder Jeffrey R. Holland. Photographed January 2018.

President Jeffrey R. Holland taught:

“As members of the Church, we are all on this journey. Our age and experience will always be varied, as will our languages, cultures, and degrees of gospel understanding. But whatever your circumstances, we welcome you”

We embrace the opportunity to assist all members, including people with disabilities, to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father by seeking to ensure that our online resources are accessible to everyone. For our resources and guidance online, we have adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

How We Integrate Accessibility in Our Work

We continue to integrate accessibility into our daily work by:

  • Bringing empathy and awareness to our staff through experiential labs and testimonials.
  • Training our staff on disability awareness and accessibility best practices.
  • Completing audits of our websites and digital products to find where we can improve.
  • Embracing accessibility in our actions and processes.

Accessibility Resources

We provide scriptures and other Church materials in a variety of accessible formats, as listed below:

Above all, we seek to serve with love and respect for all God’s children. We welcome your participation in this experience. If you would like more information on how to be more supportive in your daily life and at church, please visit disabilities support services.
