Alexey V. Samaykin

Elder Alexey V. Samaykin was named an Area Seventy and a member of the Third Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 5, 2014. He is currently serving as President of the Eurasian Area Presidency.

Since joining the Church in 1995, Elder Samaykin has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Russia Rostov Mission, branch president, district and branch Young Men president, bishop, and a counselor in the Europe East Area Presidency.

Elder Samaykin received a diploma in electronics at the Aviation Technical School in 1995 and a master’s degree in organizational management from the Moscow Institute of World Economy in 2009.

Alexey Vladimirovich Samaykin was born in Mary, Turkmenistan, on January 8, 1977. He married Lidia Gennadievna in May 2004. They are the parents of three children.
