Elder Arnulfo Valenzuela was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 6, 2013. Following his call as a General Authority, he served in the Brazil Area Presidency. Elder Valenzuela began service in the Presidency of the Seventy on August 1, 2024. He currently assists members of the Twelve Apostles in supervising the North America Central, Brazil, Caribbean, and Pacific Areas.
Elder Valenzuela has served in numerous Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Mexico Veracruz Mission, bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, counselor in a mission presidency, and Area Seventy.
Elder Valenzuela received a bachelor’s degree in administration from the Universidad de Estudios Contables y Administrativos in Mexico City. In 1992 he received a master’s degree in business administration from Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresa (IPADE). In 1981 he began working for Honeywell de Mexico as a building services commercial manager. In 1989 he became marketing director and vice president for Sweda de Mexico. In 2003 he was made regional director for Durman de Mexico and later national marketing director.
Arnulfo Valenzuela Realivasquez was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on May 4, 1959. He married Silvia Pilar Porras in April 1982. They are the parents of three children.
