Rebecca L. Craven met her husband, Ron, on a blind date while they were students at BYU. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple and are the parents of five children.
Gospel discussions around the Sunday dinner table with her family are among her favorite activities. She also enjoys playing games with her family, hiking, snowshoeing, water sports, painting, quilting, and traveling.
Rebecca L. Craven’s parents joined the Church when she was four years old while her father, a career Army officer, was stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. While growing up, she lived in Germany, England, and various parts of the United States. She received a bachelor’s degree in interior design from Brigham Young University.
She has a special love for missionaries. She served with her husband when he was president of the North Carolina Charlotte Mission. She has been president of ward Relief Society and Young Women organizations and has served as an ordinance worker in the Bountiful Utah Temple.
Over the past 15 years, Sister Craven and her family have traveled to villages in Kenya, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, and Guatemala with CHOICE Humanitarian to help rural communities end poverty. She served as an executive board member for that humanitarian organization.
