Elder Carl B. Cook was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 2, 2011. He has served as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy since March 31, 2018, and was named Senior President of the Seventy on January 16, 2024. Elder Cook served in the Africa Southeast Area Presidency, and He and Sister Cook served as mission leaders in the New Zealand Auckland Mission. As a young man, Elder Cook served in the Germany Hamburg Mission.
Elder Cook graduated with degrees from Weber State College and Utah State University. Prior to his call to the Seventy, he worked in commercial real estate development.
Carl Bert Cook was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 15, 1957. He married Lynette Hansen in December of 1979 in the Ogden Utah Temple. They are the parents of five children.
