Description

The core cast consists of over 20 actors who represent major historical figures in the pageants, including Joseph Smith, Emma Smith, and Parley P. Pratt. The core cast actors perform in both the Nauvoo and British Pageants each night for the duration of the pageant as well as present short historical vignettes during the day.

Schedule

Auditions to serve in the Nauvoo and British Pageant core cast are typically held during the month of January in Bountiful, Utah, and Provo, Utah. For those not able to attend in person, auditions by video are accepted during that time frame. For further information, you may send an email with your questions to culturalarts@ChurchofJesusChrist.org.

If you are planning to audition for the core cast but are considering involvement in the family cast if you are not selected for a core cast position, you should fill out and submit a family cast application between September 1 and October 31 of the current year for the following summer pageant season. While the family cast application is generally processed first, if you have applied for the core cast, your family cast application will not be processed until after core cast assignments have been made.

Rehearsals and song practices begin in the spring and culminate with a two-week-long required workshop in Salt Lake City in June. Full-time rehearsals and performances go from the end of June to the final performance of the pageant at the end of July/beginning of August.

Age Requirements

Men and women roles range in age from early 20s to late 50s. All are expected to have professional-quality acting skills.

Financial Requirements

The pageant will cover transportation to and from Nauvoo as well as housing and meals for the core cast while in Nauvoo. Core cast members will receive a modest honorarium to help offset their other expenses.
