Peace in America
After Jesus returned to heaven, his disciples set up the Church throughout the land. 4 Ne. 1:1
The people who repented of their sins were baptized and received the Holy Ghost. 4 Ne. 1:1
Soon all the Nephites and Lamanites were converted. There was no arguing among them, and everyone was honest. 4 Ne. 1:2
No one was rich or poor. The people shared so that they all had what they needed. 4 Ne. 1:3
The disciples worked many miracles in the name of Jesus Christ. They healed the sick and brought the dead back to life. 4 Ne. 1:5
The people built new cities where others had been destroyed. 4 Ne. 1:7–8
They obeyed God’s commandments. They fasted and prayed. They met together often to learn the gospel of Jesus Christ. 4 Ne. 1:12
There were no robbers, no liars, no murderers. The people were not divided into Nephites and Lamanites but were all one, the children of God. 4 Ne. 1:16–17
The Lord blessed the people in everything they did. 4 Ne. 1:18
There was peace in the land for 200 years. The people became very rich. 4 Ne. 1:22–23
“Surely there could not be a happier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of God.” 4 Ne. 1:16
